An Intensive Introduction to Catholic Christianity

An intensive introduction to Catholic Christianity (RCIA+) will be offered this summer at St. Bernadette's.   We will meet on Wednesday evenings in June and July from 7-9 pm in the Bradican Room. The topics we are covering are: 6/3 God, One and in Three Persons; Creation and the Fall of Humanity; 6/10 The Formation of the Jewish People; The Person of Jesus; 6/17 His Life and Ministry; the Paschal Mystery; 6/23 The Formation of the Scriptures and the Church; 6/30 Baptism and Confirmation; Penance and Anointing of the Sick; 7/1 The Eucharist; Holy Orders and Matrimony; 7/8 The Moral Life and Moral Decision Making; The Commandments 1-3; 7/15 The Commandments 4-10; 7/22 Prayer; 7/29 Conclusion.

The goals of the sessions are to provide an overview of the Faith and to provide formation for those who are interested in joining the Church.

The text we will be using is the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This is available at any Catholic book store or it can be found on the Vatican web site.
