Please join us for a State of the School Meeting on Tuesday, April 25, in the School Gym. I have been given the privilege of serving as the Principal of your parish school, and would like to invite you to consider enrolling your children in our school. School parents will be attending to hear more about what vision Father Don and I have for our community. I am looking forward to continuing traditions of the past in having the school become an active and visible part of the parish.
There are many reasons to send your children to a Catholic school. Here are a few to think about.
1. Faith – We have 7 hours a day to weave faith into your children’s day. They learn that faith is constant – guiding them through the challenges of life. They experience that faith is not just a “subject” but a lifestyle.
2. Academics – Qualified, certified teachers instill a love of learning in our students. Our program includes cursive writing, grammar, study skills, and literature – a traditional Catholic education in addition to the emphasis on Science, Technology, and the Arts.
3. Community – Families get to know each other in an environment that supports a values-based lifestyle. With the school as the common denominator, we can build a support network in this busy world.
4. Service - With regular acts of charity and service, children learn to live their faith by giving back to the community.
As an introduction, I joined St. Bernadette Parish in 1979. Three of my children graduated from St. Bernadette School, where I was an active volunteer. I taught at St. Ambrose for 8 years, and then served as Principal for 7 more. I enjoyed a short retirement, and felt called to come back to education. I hope you will join us on Tuesday the 25th to learn more about our school.
